Goethe- James E. Goethe, age 86, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away January 26, 2011. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late George W. Goethe and Normeda Bryan Goethe on August 9, 1924. He was a life long resident of Jacksonville and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Fireman First Class. He was known as a simple man that loved his Chevy automobiles and well thought of in his neighborhood.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years: Lucille Goethe of Jacksonville, FL: his children: Bryan Goethe of Jacksonville, FL, Leslie (Bud) Lawson of St. George, GA & Pam (Bull) Johnson of St. George, GA; his 9 grandchildren; his 18 great grandchildren with 1 on the way and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 1, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL with Pastor James Conner officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 11:00-12:00 pm at the funeral home. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
