Frank Lamar Ramsey, 96, of Kansas, Oklahoma, died May 8, 2012, at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. Born July 3, 1915 in Sidney, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Ramsey and Lulu Beeler Ramsey. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and moved to the area from Chicago 65 years ago. Frank was an insurance salesman with Shelter Insurance and owned and operated Ozark Gift Shop for many years. He was a volunteer fireman, and an Oklahoma fire fighter. Frank was also a painter and weatherman for KOTV out of Tulsa. He was a member of the VFW, and the American Legion. Frank attended Kansas First Baptist Church, Kansas, Oklahoma. On July 16, 1947, he married Rheba Selvidge in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rheba, and son, Ted Ramsey.
Survivors include one son, Ned Ramsey of Indiana; step daughter, Ruth Dunham of Duluth, Georgia; step grandchild, Derek Dunham of Sugar Hill, Georgia; one nephew, Jon Ramsey and a great niece, Ellen Kackley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2012, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Oklahoma.
