Ruth M. Becker, age 81, of Glen Carbon, died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born December 3, 1925 in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Otis and Berna Dipper Metzger. She married Victor Becker June 30, 1946 in Edwardsville. He survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters: Karma (Warren "Babe") Stahlhut, Toni (Stan) Wojcik and Ty Ann (Larry) Jones, all of Edwardsville; 7 grandchildren: Shelly (Darren) Spangler, Darin (Dayna) Barr, Liddy (Chris) Lafikes, Lynn Stahlhut, Todd (Tiana) Jones, and Marcy (Alex) Vazquez; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wilma Becker; a nephew and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Lee Metzger; a son-in-law, Dave Barr; a great-granddaughter, Elaina Spangler; & a brother-in-law, Vernon Becker. Mrs. Becker was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardville, the Ladies Aid and a SUnday School teacher. She was a 1943 graduate of Edwardsville High School and was an avid Bridge player. She was also a Girl Scout leader and a 4-H leader. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m Friday, January 12, 2007 at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville. Burial will be at Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Hamel Township, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
